Green Baroque Planter with Gold Scrollwork

Our Baroque Verde cachepot has a look that's hard to miss. The entire body is painted in a rich teal-green, and over that our artisans brush large golden acanthus leaf scrolls — the kind of bold, curling foliage you see in baroque architecture all over southern Italy. A warm yellow border runs along the rim.

Each piece is shaped on the wheel and decorated freehand by the master ceramists of Vietri sul Mare. The green background is applied in loose, overlapping strokes that give it depth rather than a flat, uniform colour. The gold scrollwork on top is painted with a sure, quick hand — you can see where the brush speeds up in the curves and slows down in the details.

Also available in 30 cm and 35 cm sizes. At any size it works well outdoors on a terrace or patio, filled with trailing plants or flowers. The glaze holds up to the elements, and the green blends naturally with any garden setting. Indoors, it makes a strong decorative statement on its own.
