Fruit Breakfast Cup and Saucer

We designed this breakfast cup and saucer for people who like their morning to start with colour. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape both pieces on the wheel and paint everything freehand — no transfers, no shortcuts.

The cup has a white body with a band of hand-painted fruit running around the middle: purple grapes in a generous cluster, a red apple, and green leaves, all outlined with soft brushwork. The rim, handle, and base are glazed in a warm teal green. The saucer picks up the same green on its outer ring, with a golden-ochre circle near the centre. It is a calm, earthy palette — green, purple, and touches of red against white.

The shape is a classic Italian colazione cup, wider at the mouth than a coffee mug, with a gentle curve that is comfortable to hold. It is the right size for cappuccino, caffe latte, or a generous cup of tea. The saucer is wide enough to rest a biscuit next to the cup.

Each piece is made in small batches. Since every grape cluster and every leaf is painted by hand, your set will have its own small personality. That is how you know it was made by a person, not a factory.
