Lemon Scalloped Fruit Bowl

We call this a centrotavola — a centrepiece. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape it on the wheel, then hand-form the scalloped, wavy rim before painting everything freehand. It is a piece that is meant to sit in the middle of your table and hold fruit, but honestly, it looks just as good empty.

The bowl has a deep cobalt blue background with yellow lemons and green leaves painted around the interior, connected by curling vines and small white scroll details. The rim undulates in a natural, organic way — not perfectly symmetrical, because it is shaped by hand. At the peaks of the scalloped edge, you will see raised yellow accents that pick up the lemon colour from inside. The centre has a yellow ring around a white base. Seen from above, the lemon-and-vine pattern forms a wreath around the bowl.

The bowl is wide and shallow enough to display oranges, lemons, or whatever fruit you have on hand. Many customers use it as a bread bowl at dinner, or simply leave it on a sideboard as decoration. The weight keeps it stable, and the glossy glaze is easy to wipe clean.
