Handpainted Pizza Plate

In Italian it is piatto pizza — a plate made specifically for serving pizza. Ours is about 32 cm across, which is just right for a proper Neapolitan-style pizza. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape it on the wheel and paint it entirely by hand.

The rim is decorated with a ring of hand-painted fruit — yellow lemons, ripe peaches in warm amber and red tones, clusters of blue grapes, all connected by green leaves on a teal-green background. Two bands of golden-brown trim frame the fruit design, and the wide centre is left clean white, ready for your pizza. The teal border around the rim and centre ties everything together.

It is food-safe and made for actual use, not just display. The flat, wide surface gives you enough room for a full pizza, and the slightly raised rim keeps crumbs from going everywhere. We also see customers using these as serving plates for antipasti, salads, or cheese. After dinner, it looks good enough to leave on the table or hang on a wall.

Made by artisans in Vietri sul Mare using food-safe glazes and kiln-fired at high temperature. Each plate is painted individually, so the fruit and leaves will look slightly different from one to the next. Hand washing is recommended.
