Blue Lemon Ceramic Table Lamp

Limone Blu — blue lemons. If there is one motif that says Amalfi Coast more than any other, it is lemons. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape this lamp base by hand into an amphora form with two curving handles on the sides, then paint it with clusters of bright yellow lemons on branches with green leaves, all set against a rich cobalt blue background. The base and neck are banded in warm yellow with traditional decorative patterns.

The lamp comes with a white pleated fabric shade that we hand-sew ourselves. The white shade keeps things simple and lets the ceramic body do the talking. The brass fitting sits neatly between the two handles at the top, and the whole piece has a good, solid weight to it.

People place these in the living room, the bedroom, or on a hallway console. The blue and yellow palette is classic Mediterranean and tends to work well in rooms with white walls and natural materials. When lit in the evening, the white shade gives off a soft, warm glow.

Every Limone Blu lamp is painted freehand — no stencils, no transfers. The lemons on your lamp will not be in exactly the same spot as the ones on the next, and the blue background will have its own texture and depth. That is the nature of handmade work from Vietri sul Mare.
