Handpainted Lemon Pitcher

We call it a brocca — a pitcher for the table. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare throw each one on the wheel, shape the spout and handle by hand, and paint every detail freehand. The result is a generous, round-bellied jug that sits well in the hand and pours cleanly.

The decoration on this one is classic Amalfi Coast: plump yellow lemons with green leaves and curling vines, painted against a deep blue background. Wide yellow bands frame the top and bottom of the painted area, and the base and inner neck are left in clean white. The handle and rim are edged in blue. It's a colour combination you see all along the coast — blue and yellow, sea and lemons.

Available in several sizes, from a smaller table jug to a fuller pitcher. People use them for water, wine, or juice at dinner. Some customers fill them with wildflowers and keep them on a sideboard. Either way works.
