Fruit Wall Plate on Blue

A classic fruit design on a deep cobalt blue background — one of the colour combinations that Vietri sul Mare is best known for. Our artisans paint each piece freehand, layering the fruit and leaves directly onto the glazed surface with quick, sure brushwork.

The centre of the plate is filled with lemons, a bunch of grapes, a split pomegranate, cherries and an apple, all wrapped in broad green leaves. The deep blue background makes the yellows and reds pop, and white scroll details add a bit of movement between the fruit. Around the edge, a golden yellow rim with small painted dashes frames the composition neatly.

At 26 cm across, this is one of our smaller wall plates. It works well on its own or as part of a group — many customers buy a few different designs in this size and hang them together. It also fits nicely on a plate stand on a shelf or mantelpiece.

Each plate varies slightly because of the freehand painting. The way the grapes cluster, the exact shade of yellow on the lemons — these small differences are part of what you get with genuine Vietri ceramics. We've been offering pieces like this from our shop in Praiano for over sixty years.
