Lemon Amphora Umbrella Stand
A large ceramic amphora with hand-painted lemons on cobalt blue. Built to hold umbrellas, beautiful enough to stand alone.
Our anfora Piazzetta is a large ceramic amphora designed to work as an umbrella stand, though plenty of customers use it purely as decoration. It's handmade and hand-painted in Vietri sul Mare, and it comes in the classic blue-and-yellow colours of our Piazzetta Collection.
The body is covered in a deep blue glaze with yellow lemons and green leaves painted freehand all the way around. The lemons sit on twisting branches with small white vine scrolls filling the background. Around the neck, there's a band of lemons on their branches, and the rim is finished in yellow with a scalloped border pattern. Two small handles sit on either side, also glazed in yellow. The base has horizontal stripes in blue, yellow, and white.
At 55 cm tall, it's a solid piece with good weight — it won't tip over easily. People place it by the front door for umbrellas, in an entryway as a decorative anchor, or on a terrace next to the dining table. Some use it as a floor vase for tall dried flowers or olive branches.
The lemon pattern is a classic of the Amalfi Coast — you'll see it on tiles, walls, and ceramics all along the coastline. Ours is painted freehand by artisans who've been working this way for decades, so expect small variations in the brushwork from piece to piece.
