Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape this fruit bowl by hand, giving it a wide ruffled rim and four bold blue handles that curve inward. The shape is generous and organic — no two ruffles are exactly the same, which is part of the charm of a piece that's never touched a mould.
The inside is painted with clusters of grapes, apples, oranges, and lemons on green leafy branches, all set against a deep blue centre and a warm yellow outer band. From above, you get the full picture — a ring of Mediterranean fruit surrounding that rich cobalt pool in the middle. The outside has a clean blue-and-yellow band that picks up the same palette.
It's big enough to hold a generous pile of fruit on a kitchen counter or dining table, and it works well as a serving bowl for salads or pasta too. The ruffled edge and handles give it a look that goes beyond a simple bowl, so plenty of people use it as a centrepiece even when it's empty.
Everything is painted freehand — no stencils, no transfers. The colours and brushwork will vary slightly from piece to piece. That's the hand of the artisan, not a defect.
