Wall Plate with Fruit on Teal

Our Ariel wall plate — piatto murale in Italian — is 30 cm across and painted on a soft teal-green background. In the centre, a generous still-life arrangement fills most of the plate: large yellow lemons, a split pomegranate showing its red seeds, clusters of blue grapes, a red apple, a couple of brown medlars, and golden autumn leaves, all layered together with dark green foliage.

Around the rim, our artisans have painted a golden-ochre border with a crosshatch diamond pattern. The combination of the warm border and the cool teal background gives the plate a balanced feel. White spiral details in the background add a little movement without competing with the fruit.

It's designed to hang on the wall, and it comes with that in mind. Most people put these in the kitchen or dining room, but they also work well in an entryway or living room. The 30 cm size is large enough to be noticed on its own, but you can also group it with other plates for a bigger display.

Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare paint every fruit and leaf freehand, so no two Ariel plates are identical. The colours might be a touch warmer or cooler, a pomegranate might sit slightly higher — those small differences are what make handmade ceramics special.
