Fruit Wall Plate on Teal

What catches your eye first on this plate is the background — a rich teal green that you don't see very often in Vietri ceramics. Most of our wall plates use blue or yellow backgrounds, so this one stands out. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare paint each piece freehand, building up the fruit directly on the glazed surface.

The centre shows a generous pile of Mediterranean fruit: lemons, red apples, split pomegranates with their seeds visible, and clusters of soft purple grapes. Green leaves and stems fill the spaces between the fruit, and white swirl details are worked into the teal background. The overall effect is warm and rich without being heavy.

At 26 cm, this is one of our smaller wall plates. It's a good size to hang on its own in a smaller space, or to pair with other plates from our collection in a wall grouping. It also fits well on a plate stand on a shelf or windowsill.

As with all our ceramics, the freehand painting means no two plates are identical. The teal colour can vary slightly from batch to batch depending on how the glaze reacts in the kiln. We've been selling Vietri ceramics from our shop in Praiano since 1960, and each piece still comes from the same local artisan workshops.
