Fruit Wall Plate on White

A generous still-life of Mediterranean fruit on a clean white background — this 30 cm wall plate has a lighter, more open feel than our blue-ground versions. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare paint every detail freehand, without stencils or transfers, and the white ground really lets the colours of the fruit come through.

Big yellow lemons take centre stage, surrounded by purple and blue grapes, red apples, split pomegranates with their seeds showing, and plenty of green leaves. The brushwork has a loose, painterly quality — you can see exactly how the artisan built up each piece of fruit with just a few strokes. A golden yellow border with scrolling motifs in light brown runs around the rim.

At 30 cm across, it's a comfortable mid-size plate for hanging. The white background makes it versatile — it works on coloured walls as well as light ones. Customers often pair this with one of our blue-ground plates for a nice contrast.

Each plate is made by hand in small batches, so the colours and placement of the fruit vary slightly from piece to piece. That's the nature of genuine handmade ceramics from Vietri. Our family has been selling them from our shop in Praiano since Don Mario started the business in 1960.
