Square Wall Plate with Lemons

We call it piatto murale quadrato — a square wall plate. It is purely decorative, designed to hang on a wall and bring a piece of the Amalfi Coast into your home. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape it by hand with softly rounded corners, then paint the entire surface freehand.

The design is built in layers. The outer border features a chain of lemons and green leaves winding around a deep cobalt blue background. Inside that runs a band of yellow zigzag trim. Then a second, smaller square in the centre — also packed with lemons, leaves, and blue curlicue details — all surrounded by another yellow border. The result is dense and rich, with the yellow of the lemons glowing against the blue. It is a pattern you will recognise if you have ever visited the ceramic shops in Vietri.

Available in two sizes — 30 cm and 40 cm. The smaller one works well in a group with other plates on a gallery wall. The larger one can hold its own as a single focal point. Both come with a hole or hook on the back for easy hanging.

Made in the Piazzetta style in Vietri sul Mare. As always, the brushwork and colour intensity will vary slightly from piece to piece because every plate is painted by one artisan working by hand.
