Wall Plate with Fruit and Blue Border

The Bacco is one of our wall plates with a wide decorative border — con falda, as we say. The outer rim has a bold blue floral pattern painted on a pale background, almost like tiles you'd see on old church facades along the coast. Inside that border, the centre is painted in warm yellow with a cluster of fruit: lemons, a split pomegranate with visible red seeds, blue-purple grape bunches, and a red apple, all arranged together with brown scrolling vines.

Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare paint the Bacco design entirely freehand. The wide border gives this plate more presence on the wall than a standard 30 cm plate — the overall diameter is about 30 cm, but the visual weight of that blue border makes it feel larger. The contrast between the blue-and-white rim and the golden-yellow centre draws your eye inward.

It's designed for the wall, and it makes a strong focal point in a kitchen, dining room, or hallway. The name Bacco — Bacchus — suits it well, given all the grapes and fruit. Customers sometimes pair it with our borderless plates to create a mixed wall display.

Like all our ceramics, each Bacco plate is painted by a real person in a real workshop. You'll find small differences in the blue pattern, the fruit arrangement, the depth of the yellow ground. That's the whole point of buying handmade.
