Fruit Wreath Wall Plate with Scalloped Rim

A generous 40 cm plate with a wide scalloped rim — what we call a falda — that gives it an elegant, almost architectural presence on the wall. Our artisans in Vietri sul Mare shape the decorative edge by hand before painting the entire surface freehand.

The centre shows lemons, grapes, pomegranates and an apple arranged in a loose wreath on a deep blue background, with white scroll details winding between the fruit. The broad falda rim is painted in warm amber and ochre with a repeating open-loop motif that has a slightly three-dimensional quality. The whole plate has a rich, warm palette — blues, golds, greens and deep reds.

At 40 cm across, this is one of the larger pieces in our wall plate collection. It works well as a focal point above a fireplace, a sideboard, or in the centre of a plate arrangement. The scalloped edge gives it more visual weight than a flat-rimmed plate of the same size.

Every plate is made in small batches by the same workshops we've worked with for decades. You'll find small variations in colour and brushwork from one piece to the next — that's the artisan's hand at work, and it's something we've always appreciated in our shop in Praiano.
