Large Ceramic Planter with Baroque Fruit Decor

We call this a cachepot — a large decorative planter, 40 cm across. It's a serious piece of ceramics. The body is a rounded pot shape with a wide mouth that narrows slightly at the base, glazed in a deep emerald green with a sponged texture. Around the belly, our artisans have painted elaborate baroque scrollwork in golden yellow, framing hand-painted fruits — we can see a pomegranate split open on one side and a bunch of blue grapes on the other, all surrounded by curling acanthus leaves.

A yellow decorative band runs along the top rim with a palmette pattern, and another yellow band sits near the base. The green is rich and layered, with the sponging giving it depth rather than a flat finish. The golden scrollwork is painted with confident, sweeping brushstrokes — the kind of detail that takes years of practice to get right.

The cachepot works indoors or outdoors in a covered area. Most customers use it for a large plant or small tree, but it also looks good on its own as a decorative floor piece. The 40 cm size makes it substantial enough to anchor a corner of a room or a terrace. We also have this in 30 cm and 35 cm sizes — just send us a request if you'd prefer a different size.
